After having an order for $10 million worth of them from the Pentagon in the U.S., the Handheld Interagency Identity Detection Equipment (HIIDE) was reviewed in an article from CrunchGear.

In the review, certain aspects of the machine are touted, such as its ability to authenticate an individual’s identity via iris, face and fingerprints as well as its being mobile. However, the review goes on to look suspiciously at the 256 MB memory on the device for internal storage of biometric profiles as well as its image resolution of 640×480 pixels.
