Precision Dynamics implemented its Smart Band RFID wristband system for cashless point-of-sale (POS) at the Hersheypark amusement park in Hershey, Pa.

Following a successful trial last season, Hersheypark deployed the fully integrated cashless POS system to improve customer convenience and satisfaction, while boosting profits at the park.

Guests use their Smart Band RFID wristband to make in-park purchases, check balances and load additional funds onto their wristband at any of the park’s 200 RFID-enabled kiosks. The wristbands are also waterproof, which enables guests to use them in both dry park and water park areas.

Additionally, Hersheypark implemented RFID enabled lockers that guests can also access using PDC Smart Band RFID wristbands. Based on the success of the current RFID installations, additional applications are being reviewed for use in the future.
