Grupo Diverscan votes for PowerID in Costa Rica elections

PowerID announced that Cost Rica system integrator Grupo Diverscan has chosen its battery-assisted passive RFID labels to provide real-time information in upcoming local government elections.

PowerID labels are placed in all the bags containing ballots. When ballot bags arrive at the processing center they are stacked and then passed through a portal. All bags are read simultaneously, and identified. This data allows officials to have knowledge on any missing bags, as well as the polling station responsible for the bag.

Grupo Diverscan says it intends to utilize this same application in future elections in Costa Rica as well as elections taking place in other countries in the region.
