GlobalSign introduces iOS Identity Certificates
26 April, 2012
category: Corporate, Digital ID
Digital certificate provider GlobalSign has launched its new iOS Identity Certificates for iOS device authentication. The certificates provide two-factor authentication for access control to business services.
These certificates are designed for use with iOS devices including iPad, iTouch and iPhones and can be used in conjunction with Exchange, ActiveSync, VPNs, WPA2 and Enterprise Wi-Fi networks.
The product enables companies that offer Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) services to their employees the ability to implement two-factor, certificate-based authentication to a known mobile device. It also lets network administrators enforce basic security policies for these devices.
The iOS Identity Certificates are managed through GlobalSign’s Enterprise PKI. This SaaS service allows administrators to manage multiple digital certificates, manage certificate lifecycles and enable over-the-air enrollment. It also takes advantage of the iPhone configuration utility for distribution of configuration profiles.
GlobalSign is offering packages of iOS Identity Certificates to enterprises with as few as five users. Introductory and volume pricing is available. It will also be demonstrating this product at Infosecurity Europe 2012 in London.
