Facebook is asking some of its popular users to help it test a new accounts verification service by uploading photos of their government-issued IDs, reports TPM.
Facebook wants to be able to verify people’s identities for its new “Subscribe” feature and plans to use government ID information to do so, claiming it will permanently delete the information after the verification process.
