eEye Digital Security’s REM Security Management Console has begun to support the U.S. Department of Defense Common Access Card for two-factor authentication. This announcement comes right before eEye is scheduled to present the CAC-compliant solution at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Conference in Nashville, TN May 3-7.

Currently most government Web sites require a Common Access Card (CAC) card to login and view secured data. This cards works as both a general identification card and as a mode of access to Department of Defense computers, networks and facilities.

Additionally the CAC enables encrypting and cryptographically signing email, uses PKI authentication tools, and gives authoritative signage to particular individuals.

As a key component of Retina.GOV, REM Security Management Console will also support the eEye Retina Web Security Scanner solution which scans large, complex Web sites and web applications to undertake Web-based threats or possible attacks. When the threat levels are distinguished with this security solution, the government can focus on the most critical vulnerabilities and attacks first.
