Edge Web Hosting, Inc. has partnered with Duo Security to offer two-factor authentication for remote access with its managed hosting services.

Edge will use Duo Security’s Duo Mobile smart phone application for the authentication process. The app integrates with Cisco VPN functions and works with all major mobile platforms to generate passcodes. For iPhone and Android users, the system uses Duo Push, which can push login details to the user’s phone for instant, one-tap approvals. For older devices, Duo sends passcodes via text message or a phone call where users press a button on their keypad for authentication.

Edge is making this system available to all of its customers.
