Digital Identification Solutions AG has unveiled the EDIsecure DCP 360+, a newly designed direct card printer based on the EDIsecure DCP 360i platform, at the ASIS 2010 trade fair in Dallas. The new printer is targeted for flexible card personalization and connects easily with the extended lamination options EDIsecure ILM and ILM-DS.

The fast full-color direct card printer EDIsecure DCP 360+ was developed for industrial needs with portrait mode printing and can handle plug and play inline lamination. It is part of the Business Line family and capable of managing complex applications such as those needed by corporations, government agencies, universities and hospitals and other organizations.

The EDIsecure DCP 360+ boasts field upgradeable optional encoder modules for magnetic stripe, contact and contactless smart card encoding. Designed to accommodate growing customer demands, the robust DCP 360+ enables high-quality ID card printing beyond all expectations.

To extend the security of the cards, the DCP 360+ can be joined with optional modules for single-sided and dual-sided inline lamination in one pass. The EDIsecure ILM Inline Lamination Module can be combined with the direct card printer for single-side lamination to protect the surface of the card against physical damage. Alternatively, the EDIsecure ILM-DS Inline Lamination Module can be added to the DCP 360+ for simultaneous double-sided lamination which speeds up the lamination process without adding an additional external flipper unit.

Even different laminates can be applied to the same card at the same time owing to two cartridges and two heat roller systems. A variety of lamination media is available: clear and holographic patches in various thicknesses, patches with chip cut-out for contact chip as well as holographic overlays. Both lamination modules are provided with optional lockable access to lamination supplies to guarantee extra security.

The ILM-DS can now also be combined with the EDIsecure XID 93xx Retransfer Printers for simultaneous double-sided lamination.
