Deutsche Telekom announced a partnership with financial services provider Wirecard AG to help implement DT’s mobile payments strategy.

As part of the partnership, Wirecard will put in place the technical processes for issuing the Telekom MasterCard payments solution and support Deutsche Telekom in processing payments.

The partnership provides the technical basis for the MasterCard payment card, which will be launched on the German market at the end of the year, as well as for the planned launch of DT’s Mobile Wallet in 2013.
