Burlington Medical Supplies (BMS) has partnered together with ODIN, a provider of RFID-enabled health care solutions, to launch a new inventory management system for radiation garments at hospitals and health care facilities.

The Burlington Apron Inventory Management System (BAIMS) is available through BurmedID, a division of BMS. This inventory management system for lead aprons helps standardize, organize and simplify the inspection process as well as the overall management of aprons within health care facilities.

X-ray aprons, thyroid shields and other radiation protection accessories made by Burlington have a RFID tag embedded during manufacture. The BAIMS solution allows the customer to read the tag using an RFID-enabled tablet and record inspection data for each garment, offering a complete history of the equipment’s safety and allowing the user to manage their inventory by maintaining relevant data, and storing the data safely to the BAIMS web server.

Assets are controlled from the moment of manufacture through the continuous use by the customer. It offers a unique inventory management and compliance solution to healthcare customers.
