Labcal Technologies will be using Bioscrypt’s one-to-one fingerprint matching algorithm in its SmartPrint Mobile Checker, a wireless, handheld authentication unit used to read data from contactless, secure personal identification smart cards.

New Solution Extends Bioscrypt-on-Board Enterprise Solutions to Include Handheld Authentication Device

TORONTO, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ – Bioscrypt Inc., a leading provider of identity verification technology, has announced that Labcal Technologies, Inc. has licensed the industry’s foremost one-to-one fingerprint matching algorithm for use with their SmartPrint(TM) Mobile Checker device.

The SmartPrint(TM) Mobile Checker is a wireless, handheld authentication unit used to read data from contactless, secure personal identification (smart) cards. The Mobile Checker compares a live version of an individual’s fingerprint with their biometric template stored on a card. Following a successful identity verification, the Mobile Checker displays its data (the owner’s name, identification number, and/or any other records) on its LCD display for a highly secure identification.

“We chose to integrate Bioscrypt’s award-winning algorithm with our handheld authentication device as we see several requirements in the market that could be satisfied with this great partnership,” said Pierre Root, President and CEO of Labcal. “Our SmartPrint(TM) Mobile Checker reader adds a new dimension to Bioscrypt’s enterprise offering by adding mobile authentication capabilities. We are very pleased with this new association and we look forward to a successful business relationship.”

“In today’s world where security and protection against fraud are primary concerns it is increasingly important to verify individuals at many locations. With this offering, Bioscrypt closes the loop and addresses enterprise deployments that extend from the door to the desktop to mobile devices,” said Pierre Donaldson, President and CEO, Bioscrypt. “I am confident our new partnership with Labcal will be mutually prosperous and rewarding.”
