BioID GmbH released BioID Web Services, a cloud-based service enabling developers of Web, cloud and mobile applications to integrate biometric functionality into their applications with simple APIs.

Using BioID Web Services, developers can add functionality, from demanding security applications such as face and/or voice authentication with liveness detection, to fun applications like celebrity matching, model agency image searching and photo tagging, to Web apps.

As a cloud computing service the service scales any performance and storage requirements. Implementation requires no developer or client software installation and no specialized expertise in biometrics or image processing.

The service is available with a pay-per-use licensing model, with a limited free transaction volume available to qualified developers for development and test purposes.
