BIO-key International announced that it has partnered with fellow biometrics developer Fulcrum Biometrics to bring a new mobile solution to the City Clerk’s Office in Sacramento, Calif.

The new solution, which runs on the iPhone from Apple and utilizes fingerprint scanning for identification authentication, is designed to assist the city with staff processing and approval documents while helping them meet digital signature compliance guidelines.

The city is testing the system with hopes of implementing the system full time before the end of 2012, which would likely result in them being the first U.S. city to employ fingerprint biometric technology to meet compliance requirements.
