BIO-key International has announced its plans to present a new biometric solution designed for use with the Apple iPad and iPhone at the Allscripts Client Experience event, an event for health care companies, in Nashville, Tenn. in August.
The new solution, called iOS Fingerprint Mobile Identification Device (iFMID), is designed as a potential solution for enabling caregivers to access to biometrically secured electronic health records. The device itself was originally developed by biometric security hardware developer S.I.C. Biometrics, however, BIO-key had earlier this month released its plans for acquisition of the company.
