Bank of New Zealand adds mobile authentication to apps

The Bank of New Zealand has tapped its partner Entrust to add seamless strong mobile authentication to its new line of consumer banking applications.

Designed for both the iOS and Android platforms, the security credential will be embedded within the app itself to ensure security and speed up the login process.

The Bank of New Zealand has worked with Entrust for six years, using Entrust’s IdentityGuard authentication framework and SDK for soft-token authentication in conjunction with its mobile apps. The token generates a one-time passcode for users for login purposes.

Entrust also supplies the Bank of New Zealand with its NetGuard grid card authentication product.
