Avago finds premier solution in Arcot products

In an effort to save a hefty annual collaboration cost, Avago Technologies began using the solution products A-OK and ArcotID from cloud authentication company Arcot Systems Inc. Some changes that came along with the switch include the adoption of platforms such as Google Apps Premier Edition and instillation of multilevel authentication.

Primarily, the Avago decision to adopt Arcot Systems now gives the supplier company protection from security threats including phishing and man-in-the-middle attacks.

A-OK supports authentication for a wide variety of remote-access services, including Web portals, VPNs and Salesforce.com and ArcotID is a secure software credential solution.

Whereas before Avago would need separate devices, with Arcot solutions there is no need for tokens, both ArcotID and A-OK allow users to log in to Google Apps from any location using their existing SSO credentials with the use of a mobile phone. The success of the merger prompted Avago to expand its use of Arcot A-OK and ArcotID in 2010. Avago employees now use the same strong authentication credential to log in to Google Apps and their VPN.
