Austin Independent School District taps Radiant RFID for district-wide asset management

Austin Independent School District (AISD), Texas’ fifth largest school district, has chosen local IT asset management provider Radiant RFID to deploy its tracking solutions and to enable district-wide inventory control.

Austin ISD will utilize this solution to manage locations of its diverse and mobile inventory of laptops, tablets, smart boards and other classroom assets. The solution integrates with AISD’s existing asset software via Radiant’s web services API giving them real time visibility into asset location and movement.

Utilizing Radiant’s RFID asset management solution will enable campus administrators to directly manage and audit campus inventory of high tech equipment quickly and accurately with less effort than its previous barcode systems.

During an audit, Radiant’s solution reports what assets are assigned to, located within, or missing from a classroom. This information allows administrators to quickly and accurately resolve inventory and account for item movement from room to room, building to building, and even campus to campus, thus saving the district time and money..

Radiant has also recently teamed with the Chicago Public Schools to deploy a similar system that is responsible for the automatic monitoring of more than $450 million in assets.
